Poetry Competition

It was wonderful this afternoon to be able to be able to reintroduce our poetry competition after two years absence due to Covid. There was a fantastic range of poems chosen, from Victorian classics, such as W. H. Auden’s ‘The Mail’, to very funny modern poems like Michael Rosen’s ‘The Babysitter’. Entrants ranged in age from 4 – 11. We had a fantastic afternoon’s entertainment and Mrs Lister, who judged for us, wanted to give everyone a prize! In the end however, she did manage to whittle it down to three winners (Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Overall).

Thank you to Mrs Lister for giving up her afternoon to judge for us. (we have already booked her again for next year) and congratulations to our three winners! To watch them perform their poems click here.
