In our assembly this morning, Christine, our school chaplain, spoke about Pentecost as the birthday of the Church. She asked the children what gift they had received and they were delighted to tell her that it was the Holy Spirit. She then explained to the children, very cleverly, about how the Holy Spirit helps us: The rug represented the comfort the Spirit brings us; the charger represented the energy the Spirit gives us; the Spirit helps us to know, understand and remember (this was a game where the children had to remember the colour order of the paper, and finally Christine hid a chocolate coin in one hand to represent the fact that the Spirit helps us to make the right choices). We are grateful to Christine for leading such a thought-provoking, inspiring assembly.
