We listened to a reflection on Pentecost during collective worship. Afterwards we thought about what it might have felt like to have been one of those who were there. We also learnt about some of the symbols of the Holy Spirit: fire, wind and a dove.
We explored the meaning of these symbols: Fire represents power and change. Wind also represents power and the breath of God. The dove represents the peace that the Spirit brings.
We used these symbols to draw our own Pentecost pictures:
We thought about the power of the spirit, to bring about change and to bring gifts, and imaginned what the disciples might have been thinking and feeling before the Spirit came, at the moment when it arrived and afterwards:
