This year, for the first time, we have entered the RHS School Garden Competition. The theme is ‘The Seven Wonders of the World’. Mr Hawtree has worked with Bob Hares and a group of children, to decide on a focus for our garden, and the outcome is that our garden will be inspired by the Great Barrier Reef. Mr Hawtree has organised a non-school uniform day on Friday 7th February, to raise money for some of the plants that will be needed for the garden. Please support this event by sending in a contribution of £1. One of the key plants that we are hoping to buy is an outdoor palm tree. After the competition, we are hoping that many of the plants will be able to be brought back to school, and planted in the Eco Garden. Mr Hawtree took his class up to the Horticultural College to have a look at some of the types of plants that they might need.
