Last half term we were so very lucky to welcome Rose Johnson, the opera outreach officer from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, along with two very talented conservatoire students for a morning of music.
The day started with an incredible performance for the whole school to enjoy; and then continued with workshops for KS2. These work shops were wonderful insights into the world of opera and how movement and singing are used to tell stories. The children learnt a song from the opera “Hansel and Gretel”, and then told the story through a series of freeze frames.
At Holy Redeemer we love to sing and the children were excited to receive some extra singing tips and plenty of inspiration to take away with us! Thank you Rose for your inspirational visit and thank you also to our very own Mr Johnson for organising such a wonderful morning of musical enrichment!
