On Saturday 1st July Bron Sones, from Holy Redeemer Parish, hosted a charity concertin the parish hall, in aid of Medicin Sans Frontiers and in memory of recently departed parishioner and life long music lover and ex choir master, Eddie Wilson. Bron had asked the school to contribute to the afternoon’s line up and members of the school band and choir performed. The band played two pieces from their ever growing repertoire and the choir sang a selection of five songs, some religious and some from the up and coming school production of Tom Sawyer. Mrs Guppy and Mrs Hanks accompanied the choir on guitar and flute, which was very much appreciated as Mr Lister was unable to attend. Ciara Hanks entertained everyone with her solo on the clarinet and also joined her mum and auntie to play as part of a trio. The children played and sang beautifully, to much applause, and helped to raise over £700! Well done to everyone and thank you to all those children who gave up their Saturday afternoon for such a good cause; you are living out the school’s mission statement and becoming great people who make a difference in the world.
