It was great last week to host our first Winter Sports morning for KS1. The children were in four mixed teams and cheered each other with great enthusiasm.

Year 2 set a good example to the younger children and everyone took a part in a range of events including; running, relays, jumping and throwing.

Year 5 leaders did a fantastic job encouraging, demonstrating and setting up & putting away. They enjoyed being young leaders and it was a great opportunity to practise for being prefects in Year 6. They also gave the teachers a good race, taking victory in a very close race. The cheering and support from KS1 was great to hear, and everyone really enjoyed the event.

The young leaders awarded children with certificates for displaying the School Games values: self belief, passion, respect, determination, honesty and team work.

The competition was extremely close and the winners, only one point clear, were the Monkeys Team!

Well done to everyone involved and thanks to all staff and leaders for organising and taking part in the event, especially Mrs Annis and Mrs Porter.
