In their French lessons this term, Key Stage Two have been reading ‘Va-t’en Grand Monstre Vert’ by Ed Emberley; a book about a big green monster who gradually appears and then disappears with the turn of each page.
The book has reinforced some of the work they have been doing in class on colours and parts of the body, as well as focussing on word order and adjective agreement. The children then used the book as a basis for creating and describing their own monsters. As an extension to this, Year 6 played the board game ‘Guess Who?’ (Qui est-ce?) practising their French listening and oral skills.
The children really enjoyed reading a book in French and learning some new vocabulary and were very proud of themselves for becoming authors in a another language! Thank you Mrs Chatterton.
