Thank you to all of the pupils and staff who worked so hard to make this year’s carol concert so beautiful. It was a wonderful way to end the term and start to look ahead to Christmas. The singing and instrument playing was wonderful, the reading confident, clear and expressive and the transitions seamless.
Thank you also to all of the family, friends and parishioners who attended and who gave so generously to the Values Council collection at the end of the service. We raised £85, which will be added to the donations from the nativity performance, and sent to this year’s chosen charities; The Maggs Day Centre for the homeless, and the School of Joy in Bethlehem, to support children with disabilities. Both charities were chosen by the Values Council, with regard to the Catholic Social Teaching elements of: a preferential option for the poor, the call to community and participation, the sacredness of life and the dignity of the human person and human rights and the responsibility to protect them.
