HOLY REDEEMER CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING
We worked together to decide on our School Catholic Social Teaching principles
At Holy Redeemer we focus on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and how we can all work together for the good of each other and the good of the planet.
This is not a new idea and all of the themes are rooted in scripture. Its principles have always guided Catholics in their relationship with the world and with each other. Pope Francis has stressed our need to take seriously these principles and try to live by them: “An authentic faith – which is never comfortable or completely personal – always involves a deep desire to change the world, to transmit values, to leave this earth somehow better than we found it.” This is something that we all feel very strongly about at Holy Redeemer, where the children and staff work together to make a positive difference in our world. We worked together to decide on our School Catholic Social Teaching principles (see below).
These principles echo through our lives and have a particular resonance today and in school we look for opportunities where we can live out these social teachings and fulfil our School mission statement and make a difference in our world.
