The pupils of Holy Redeemer are taking on John Lewis again. Last year they created a Christmas Ad to rival the famous John Lewis one. This year they’ve done it again with an uplifting and heart-warming Christmas film showcasing the school and its values.
The film shows how youngsters from the School Council respond when seeing that a Reception Christmas trip has been cancelled. With the help of the older classes, the School Council creates a magical replacement trip in Holy Redeemer’s Forest School area.
We are very proud of what the children and staff have achieved. The film embodies the true meaning of Christmas. It promotes our school values and showcases the pupils’ creativity.
The film also shows that you don’t have to spend a lot to make Christmas special. It’s amazing what you can do with imagination, fairy lights and scrap cardboard. The film is called ‘A Christmas Miracle’ but you’ll have to watch to the very end of the film to see why.
The children spent a day (last December) working with filmmakers Julia Letts and James Atkinson (JDA Media) and learnt a great deal about the process of filmmaking. Filming took place in classrooms and in the Forest School area.
The pupils all really loved being involved and rose to the occasion. Even our very youngest children behaved impeccably on a very cold morning. Julia and James were very impressed.
