Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Harvest Festival fundraising in any way. This year we took part in:
- Cafod’s ‘Brighten Up Day’;
- Donated cakes and biscuits for the school/parish after mass coffee morning;
- Brought in food for the Pershore Food Bank.
Across the three events we raised an amazing £541.63, and collected seven boxes full of food for the Food Bank.
Our School/Parish Harvest mass last Sunday was lovely. It was wonderful to see so many parents, pupils, staff and parishioners all joining together to thank God for the gifts of creation. The coffee morning in the school hall afterwards was a great success, and there were even few cakes left for the staffroom table for Monday!
Yesterday, members of the Values Council went down to the Food Bank with Mr Hall and Mrs Andrews to deliver the food we had collected. They were very grateful for our contribution and now, because of the generosity of the school community, many more families will not go hungry this autumn.
We were very lucky to have a visit from Sean Devlin from Cafod, who came into school to talk to the children about the good work that Cafod do and how they will make use of the money we send them. We will be sending them a cheque for £541.63 next week, knowing that our contribution will also make a real difference in the lives of others.
