Year 6 pupils, Mrs Williams and Mrs Hall attended the Father Hudson’s Good Shepherd Mass, as St. George’s, in Worcester, this afternoon. It was a beautiful mass, led by Bishop David, who confirmed our Confirmation candidates earlier this year.

Blessed Edward Oldcorne choir and staff provided the musicians and choir, and children from the various schools read and took up the offertory. During the offertory procession children from each school took up cheques for the money they had raised for Father Hudson’s during Lent. The children sang and read beautifully, and it was lovely to see some of our past pupils singing solos and reading in their Blessed Edwards uniforms. 

The Values Council were very proud to have raised £270 for Father Hudson’s with their weekly Lenten fundraising activities, and we also raised £170 for them as part of their new ‘Pledge £1’ initiative, where the Archdiocese asked each school to raise £1 per child for this worthy charity who exemplify the Catholic Social Teaching of ‘Option for the Poor’ and ‘Dignity of the Human Person’.

Across the Archdiocese schools that took part in ‘Pledge £1’ raised an amazing £75,000! Thank you to the Values Council and Mrs Williams for their hard work on this, and to everyone who contributed in any way.
