Congratulations to this term’s Goldfinch Award winners. This half term, awards were given to children exhibiting the half term’s Virtues of being ‘Attentive’ and ‘Discerning’. The children were nominated for the award by their class teacher, who had observed them going over and above in living out these values. Teachers noted that these children were attentive to the needs of others and discerning in the choices they made.
The Goldfinch Awards are given out each half term, to children who are seen to be exemplary role models, living out each half term’s Virtues. The award takes the form of a goldfinch pin badge for the child to keep. The goldfinch represents Jesus and reminds us all that we are, as St. Teresa of Avila said, “Christ’s hands and feet on earth”, and that we need to do His good works.
