Fun Kids is the UK’s children’s radio station and has previously been the winner of Sony and Arqiva Digital Radio Stations of the year. Part of their mission, as well as entertaining children across the country, is to help them learn.
They have daily learning activities and challenges for kids at FunKidsLive.com/homeschool. Each week there’s a new topic and every week day we publish a page with an educational video, podcast, and a challenge for your pupils to complete!
So far they’ve covered how aeroplanes work, given a history of intellectual property and found out about all of the gruesome jobs children used to do in Victorian Britain, from chimney sweeps to sewer cleaners. Right now, they’re discovering how towns are built to be as inclusive as possible with Agent Plan-It.
You can access these resources at the Fun Kids website at FunKidsLive.com. These resources are totally free. There’s no free trials, no accounts to make and no lists to sign-up to. Just head to FunKidsLive.com/homeschool and start enjoying them.
Mr Hawtree especially recommends their author interviews! He has devised a KS1 and a KS2 book related PowerPoint inspired by two of these interviews. Download the Powerpoints, listen to the author interview and have a go at some of the activities!
