It was wonderful to have a visit from Kevin, who works for the Fr Hudson’s Society, last week. This is one of the charities that the Values Council have chosen to support with their fundraising this Lent.
Kevin spoke to the children about history of the charity and the wide ranging work that Fr Hudson’s carries out, before focussing in more depth on their work with the homeless.
As ‘Options for the Poor and Vulnerable’ is one of the Catholic Social Teachings that we try to live our lives by, the children were very interested to hear about how Fr Hudson’s support homeless people in making ling term changes to help them get into work and into stable housing.
Thank you Kevin for coming to talk to us all, to the Values Council for all of their fantastic fundraising work this Lent and to everyone who has supported any of their fundraising in any way.
