It was lovely to see the children back in school today, and what a fantastic day it was: the children’s smiling faces on their way in this morning, their thoughtful responses in our assembly about listening the voice of creation, hearing them talk about what fun they had got up to in the holidays, seeing friendships kindle and reconnect, bring amazed at how much they had grown, getting to know our new children (in Reception Class, as well as across the school), catching up with parents and staff, watching Year 6 show us how fast they can run in their PE lesson, hearing KS 2 singing in the hall during music lessons, listening to and seeing how ready they all were to settle straight back down to learning! What a great start to the year. There were, of course, a lot of tired children by 3:15, not to mention staff, but we are all looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year will bring.
