Five children from Year 5 and 6 travelled to Sheffield last week for the English Schools National Swim Finals. It is a fantastic achievement to make the National Finals, and we are so proud of our swimmers. Everyone swam very well, and the team were 5 seconds faster in the front crawl relay than in the qualifying round, and a huge 9 seconds faster in the mixed stroke relay. They made the B final in the front crawl relay and finished in 16th place, and were reserves in the mixed stroke relay, finishing in 18th place.
The children had a great day and were privileged to meet a Paralympic swimmer and hold her gold and silver medals. The children were a credit to Holy Redeemer School, both in and out of the pool. Thank you so much to Mrs Annis, Mrs Porter and the parents for giving up their time to support and encourage the children, and enable such a wonderful opportunity.
