This week saw our first after school Eco gardening club in a long time. A selection of children from all year groups eagerly attended, with our younger children accompanied by an adult. Mr Hares, our volunteer gardener, had left us with a long list of jobs to keep us busy. The older children were skilled in distinguishing plants from weeds, and showed the younger children how to clear areas ready for growing. We harvested radishes, and laid straw under the plants in the strawberry bed. We also tended the sweetpeas and are now looking forward to watching the flowers appear.
Our garden is looking much tidier already, and we are looking forward to next week’s jobs.
