Eco Council: Great Garden Bird Watch

Last week the Eco Council took part in the Great Garden Bird Watch. They took it in turns to spend ten minutes, across one hour, watching our school garden and feeding stations, and recorded how many of each different bird species they spotted. It was a busy hour in the garden, with a great variety of birds being seen. The children then submitted their results online in order to contribute to this fantastic citizen science project and contribute to protecting habitats and promoting biodiversity. A great way to follow the Catholic Social Teaching of ‘Stewardship’.

Thank you to pre-school for making fat balls for the feeding station. They really helped to attract the birds and provided them with much needed food during these cold winter months.
