This morning the Eco Council, Mrs Barker and Mrs Chatterton, visited Envirosort at Worcester, for a look round the recycling plant and a recycling workshop. The children discovered at only about 10% of what is put into recycling bins actually gets recycled in this country, due to a large proportion being contaminated with other materials/not washed, or because we don’t have the capacity to recycle the amount of waste that we produce. With this in mind the Eco Council are going to have a big push on reducing next year.
