A fantastic performance for both the Under 9 and Under 11 football teams at the Catholic Football tournament at Winterfold.
The Under 9 team just missed out on the semi finals. They had a great deal of possession but were unlucky not to score more goals. Many players are only in Year 3 and can play in the same age category again next year! A special mention to Oscar, the team captain. He worked tirelessly for the team and remained positive throughout.
The Under 11 team made Holy Redeemer history by winning the tournament! They qualified in second place from the group stage and went on to beat St Bede’s Middle School, on penalties, in the semi finals. A special mention to Dara in goal and Ivan for scoring the winning penalty.
The team displayed fantastic strength in the final beating St Ambrose 2:0, after loosing to them 3:0 in the group stage. It was wonderful to have a mixed winning team.
Holy Redeemer is proud of all of our footballers: well done to everyone. It is great to see so many children attending football club at school.
