Holy Redeemer took part in the Year 5 and 6 Cross Country at Prince Henry’s High School qualifying event last week. The children have worked hard all year at running club, and we were delighted with their outstanding performance.

The Year 5 boys won the team event with individual team members taking 1st, 6th, 7th, and 9th places. The Year 5 girls also finished first in the team event, with individual members finishing 1st, 4th, 9th, and 12th.

The Year 6 girls team finished 3rd in the table, with the first place spot being taken by one of the team, and the Year 6 boys were 2nd in the team event- again with 1st place being taken by a Holy Redeemer runner.

All our runners ran the full 1900m course and displayed excellent fitness, determination and resilience. We are so proud of them all!

Thanks to Mrs Houghton for organising the event, Prince Henry’s for hosting and to Mrs Annis, Mrs Porter and Mrs Clay for giving up their time so generously every week to take the before school running club-such inspirational role models.

We encourage all of our running club runners to please continue to attend every Wednesday. Anyone who is interested in joining is very welcome-KS1 children do need to bring an adult to supervise them though.
