Congratulations to the team of children representing Holy Redeemer in the 2nd round of the County Cup. Your passion and determination were fantastic and you fought hard right to the final whistle.

The match was very exciting, with plenty of goals both ends. The score was 6:6 at full time and remained 6:6 after extra time.

Penalties were equally exciting and we were drawn 3:3 after the first five penalties. The subsequent sudden death penalties were nail-biting, but we eventually went out on the 9th penalty. Always a very difficult way to go out of a cup, but the team were outstanding.

Well done to Witton Middle School and good luck in the next game. Well done to every player, great football.
