Yesterday Archbishop Bernard visited Holy Redeemer parish to confirm children from Years 6, 7 and 8. Due to the previous two years’ Covid restrictions those children in years 7 and 8 were not able to be confirmed during their Year 6 year and so all three cohorts were confirmed together.
The children had been preparing for their confirmation for six months, supported by Mrs Williams, and yesterday was the culmination of all their hard work.
The service was beautiful and all the candidates carried out their roles with confidence and great respect, be that serving on the altar, reading, offertory and/or leading the congregation in the final hymn.
Thank you to the children, staff and parishioners who came along to sing in the choir on Sunday, to Mr Lister for playing the organ, the staff who served refreshments, the many parents and parishioners who helped with the clearing away, but especially to Father Amal, Deacon Pat, Deacon Kevin, the altar servers, Farther Dominic, Christine Dodd and Archbishop Bernard.
