This week we have been learning about Chinese New Year. We started the week with a visit from Mrs Dee who told us about the festival. We listened to a story about Chinese New Year and acted it out. We had to make lots of noise using the musical instruments to frighten away the dragon! We also learned about the lucky red envelopes the children are given during the 15 day festival. Mrs Dee also talked about what we should not do during Chinese New Year, including no crying and not cleaning your house!!!
On Tuesday we went to Kings Hawford School, where we are continuing to build a partnership between the Foundation Stage classes. We had a very exciting and busy morning which included a Forest School session, taking part in creating a ‘big art’ Chinese dragon, making dragon masks and a Chinese New Year music and movement activity.
