This week, Henrietta delivered the story of ‘Farmer Duck’ and a poem called ‘The Big Red Barn’. We used the watercolours to paint pictures of our favourite parts of the story, made farm animals on the Creation Station and in Music we created our own

After a long winter hibernating, it was lovely to see Henrietta again and even more exciting to read the two books she left for us. She sent us a fiction and a non-fiction book about animals.   Our new topic this term is ‘Amazing Animals’

As part of this week’s learning, linked to the story of the Three Little Pigs, Reception Class made shelters out of straw, wood and brick, at Forest School. They created some wonderful houses for the pigs, but unfortunately the Big Bad Wolf chose that moment

This week Reception Class have continued to base their learning around the story of ‘The Enormous Turnip’. They explored a range of vegetables and fruit and then used some of the vegetables to make their very own soup. Some of them thoroughly enjoyed the soup

Yesterday at Forest School, Reception Class finished their Forest School session by  toasting (and eating) marshmallows at Base Camp, to celebrate Mrs Andrews’ birthday.
