On Thursday 23rd April, St George’s Day, our school celebrated a British Values Day. We all enjoyed dressing up as significant individuals from today and the past, including Queen Elizabeth II, Brunel, David Beckham, Simon Cowell and many more…
We learnt about the five key British Values:
- democracy
- mutual respect
- individual liberty
- rule of law
- tolerance of other people’s beliefs and values
We thought about how our school incorporates these values including through our school, eco and sports councils as well as how we treat each other and our role as part of our school community.
We enjoyed traditional English teacakes at break-time…
In some of our music lessons, Mr Lister taught us more about democracy through a singing round. We all chose which colour to vote for based on what changes they said they would make…
We had great fun on the playground where we played different British games including football, tennis, badminton, skipping, cricket and hopscotch…
