British Science Week Competition

Next week is British Science Week, and this year’s theme is ‘Connections’. The British Science Association have set a competition to design a poster on this theme. Mrs Barker (as science co-ordinator) is asking the children to work with adults at home to design and make a poster based on this year’s theme and bring it into school next Friday, to share in assembly. We will then choose 5 School Winners (as per the competition rules) and enter the posters into the BSA poster competition, where there is the chance to win some fabulous prizes. The theme is very broad and there are a huge range STEM topics that could be explored! How about exploring how our body parts are all connected and work together, the connection between our actions and the impact on our environment, or even how internet connection has changed the world? The poster can be presented in any way, as long as it can be posted. Here’s what the judges will be looking for:

  • Creativity in approach – Innovative angle on the content or creative interpretation of the theme
  • Content – Clear, accurate and informative about a STEM topic
  • Effective communication – presented and communicated in an engaging way
