Bell Boating Regatta 2015

Bell Boating Success
The sun shone on Saturday as we enjoyed a very exciting day on the riverside at the annual bell boating regatta.
We entered three teams: Y4, Y5 and Y6 and competed against all the local schools.
Due to lack of numbers in our Y4 team, we had a mixed team of five pupils from Y4, two from Y3 and one from Y1 for the first heat. The team did very well making it to the B final. Thanks to our younger pupils for stepping in on the day and filling the gaps so well. It was their first time in a bell boat.
Both our Y5 and Y6 teams made it through to the A final. Y5 came second overall in a very close race. The Y6 team came third, again in a very closely contested battle.
Holy Redeemer parents proved themselves to be adept at Bell boating again for another year, winning the Y4 parent race and getting into the final in the Y5/6 parents race. It was an extremely close final with three teams getting exactly the same qualifying time.
Well done to everyone who took part but especially to our parents.
