Congratulations to this terms Goldfinch Award winners. In Autumn 1 they were awarded for children exhibiting the half term’s Virtues of being ‘Curious’ and ‘Active’ in their faith, and in Autumn 2 they were awarded for children who showed the Virtues of ‘Intentional’ and ‘Prophetic’. The children were nominated for the award by their class teachers, who had observed them going over and above in living out these values.
The Goldfinch Awards are given out each half term, to children who are seen to be exemplary role models to others in living out each half term’s Virtues. The award takes the form of a goldfinch pin badge for the child to keep. The goldfinch represents Jesus and reminds us all that we are, as St. Teresa of Avila said, Christ’s hands and feet on earth, and that we need to do His good works.
