Holy Redeemer took 7 children to the County Cross Country finals at Bromsgrove School this week. It is a massive achievement even to qualify for this event; each runner had to finish top 8 in the qualifying round, competing against pupils from all of the schools in south Worcestershire.

All 7 children ran with great passion and determination and worked hard to secure the highest possible placing, finishing in 25th and 2nd place in the Year 5 girls’ category, well done to our  silver medalist.

Our Year 6 girl runner finished 12th in that category, and in the Year 5 boys group Holy Redeemer children finished 35th, 21st and 4th position. Our Year 6 boy finished 5th in his category.

Well done to all our amazing runners and congratulations to the three children who qualified for the National Cross Country on the 21st of March: this is an outstanding achievement and we wish you much luck.

Thank you to Bromsgrove for hosting the event, and special thanks to Mrs Annis, Mrs Porter and Mrs Clay for running our before school cross country running club, which is a key factor in the children reaching such fantastic levels of fitness and stamina.
