In their outdoor learning last week Year 6 were transported back to Victorian times. In class they had been learning about what life was like for Victorian children, and were given the brief of making a toy that would entertain them, using limited resources and tools. The class were given dolly pegs, string, fabric, saws, peelers and could make use of any natural resources they could find. The children came up with some very creative toys, such as a bow and arrow, peg doll angels, snakes and a log dog. The group who made the peg angels also made a base for them and sang Christmas carols while they played with them.
Afterwards the children were given some time to play with their toys, before gathering at Base Camp to peer assess each other’s toys and enjoy a well deserved hot chocolate.
