Last week, Year 2 had a busy week of learning! In English, they learnt about the past tense, including how to speak in this tense and how to change verbs into the past tense too. They enjoyed acting out different verbs and playing games to develop their understanding further. They found out that you can’t always add the suffix -ed to words, as some verbs are irregular and need changing even more!
In RE, the children learnt about two of the Sacraments; Marriage and Baptism. They looked at the different customs of the church and associated religious symbols and vocabulary. Their favourite part was visiting church to re-enact these special celebrations.
In History, the class have begun their topic on The Great Fire of London. Miss Adams found a magical box filled with interesting artefacts. The children investigated these one at a time and discussed what they thought they were and how they linked to a significant event from the past.
What a fun-filled week of learning! Year are looking forward to the start of the Advent season this week and also their upcoming Nativity shows too!
