NHS School Screener
The School Screener digital assessment system will allow pupils in Year 6 and parents of Reception age children, to complete health questionnaires electronically, reducing paperwork for everybody and giving the school nursing team the ability to analyse health information and better tailor their work with schools to the needs of students and parents. The system will also enable them to automate the hearing screening and child measurement programmes.
As a school we expressed an interest in being involved in the pilot and we’re really excited to be working with our NHS school nursing team on this.
Over the summer the team has been preparing the system and they are now ready to begin implementing it. Our School Health Nurse, Sandra Wakeman will be closely involved in this.
As a brief introduction, I’ve included two links below to short videos which explain what School Screener is about. A key element of this new system is pupil questionnaires for the Year 6s (which we will facilitate in school) and parent questionnaires for the Reception children. These questionnaires will be online and we will send out links next month. On completion of the questionnaires, Sandra will analyse the results and then offer a bespoke set of services that meet the needs of our pupils and parents.
